I agree with you that it is tough to build a company just on technology and I bet the folks mentioned have either learned that or gone out of business by now. But the thing to appreciate is their passion and gut to start and to do something they think they can do. There would be few who succeed but that is what makes history.
We indians have gone into this lethargic mentality of curbing everything new and unseen. If you can't believe it, you can not do it.
